Arrests
An East Buchtel Avenue woman, 20, was charged with felonious assault. Police said the woman got into a fight over $10 and assaulted another person with a knife.
A Kenmore Boulevard man, 39, was charged with receiving stolen property, willful fleeing, resisting arrest and obstructing official business. Police said the man was observed in a stolen vehicle and fled from officers. He led them on a vehicle chase running stop signs and red lights. He crashed on North Main Street and was apprehended after a short foot chase.
A Noble Avenue man, 26, was charged with felonious assault, possessing weapons illegally, discharging a firearm in the city, child endangering and possession of defaced firearm. Police said officers were called to a Noble Avenue residence for a shots-fired call. A woman stated that when she pulled into the drive to pick up her sister’s children the man began shooting at her. He continued shooting as she pulled away.
A Youngstown woman, 48, was charged with tampering with evidence. Police said officers made a traffic stop on the vehicle that the woman was driving. Officers observed she was chewing on something and asked her to open her mouth. They observed crack in her mouth and she continued to chew after being asked to stop.
A Pawnee Boulevard man, 20, was charged with possessing weapons illegally and impersonating a police officer. Police said officers were called to Patony’s Pizza for a suspicious person with a gun. The man was found wearing a uniform with private police and patches resembling Cleveland Police Department on it. He was also in possession of a gun belt with a loaded pistol and wearing a ballistic vest. Officers found a civil protection order against the man.
A Robinwood Drive, Uniontown man, 25, was charged with felonious assault. Police said the man punched another man in the face, breaking the man’s jaw and teeth.
A Barcelona Drive man, 41, was charged with receiving stolen property, misuse of credit card, theft and theft without consent. Police said the man was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle and credit cards. He used the credit cards twice at the ATM, stealing $120.
A 5th Street Southwest man, 26, and a North Howard Street man, 25, were charged with theft. Police said a person observed the men break into a vehicle and push a four-wheeler down the driveway at a Cole Avenue residence.
A Carroll Avenue man, 58, was charged with theft. Police said the man was observed breaking into a Carroll Avenue residence taking clothing, a breathing machine and a TV.
A Penn Place NE, Canton man, 38, was charged with felonious assault, possessing a weapon illegally and firing shots into an occupied structure. Police said the man went to a Denver Street home and shot at the resident through the front window.
An East Crosier Street man, 19, was charged with aggravated robbery, disorderly conduct and turbulent and aggravated menacing. Police said the man was apprehended by officers and identified by one of the persons robbed.
A Dodge Avenue man, 25, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence. Police said officers were called to a Dodge Avenue residence for a stabbing after the man got into an argument with another person. Both men were intoxicated, police said. The man cut the other person in the hand with a knife.
A Dover Avenue man, 20, was charged with aggravated burglary, domestic violence and criminal damage.
A Sparhawk Avenue man, 35, was charged with domestic violence. Police said the man assaulted a woman. He then ran from the police before being apprehended.
A McGowan Street man, 26, was charged with domestic violence.
A Catawba Avenue man, 49, was charged with domestic violence and child endangering.

A 27th Street NW boy, 16, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence Jan. 28 after police said he threatened to stab his mother with a pocket knife after they had argued at the residence.
A Hagey Drive man, 21, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence Jan. 28 after he and his sister argued over use of their grandfather’s truck. He was accused of slapping her and striking her with a crutch.
A 33rd Street SW man, 47, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence Jan. 28. He is accused of striking his girlfriend in the face with a notebook when she let him into the house.
An Austin Drive Court man, 44, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence Jan. 27 after police said he and a woman argued over a light and he pushed her into a nightstand.
A Bell Street man, 43, turned himself in at the Barberton police station Jan. 26. He was wanted on a warrant for domestic violence, which police say occurred Dec. 27.
A domestic violence charge was lodged against a Fourth Street NW man Jan. 21. He is accused of head-butting the mother of his three children in the mouth.

A 40-year-old man was charged Feb. 3 with attempted theft. He is accused of presenting an invoice for plowing a parking lot that he did not plow.

Thefts
An Econolodge motel manager, 50, told police Feb. 1 that someone stole a hot water heater that had been delivered and left in a crate in the lobby. There are no suspects.
A Doylestown woman, 66, told police that not long after her brother’s recent death, someone broke into his motor home. The culprits stole a drum set, 19-inch color TV, DVD player and microwave. Total value of the items was $1,800.
Domestic violence
A Fairlawn man, 36, reported an incident of domestic violence and criminal damaging Feb. 3. He told police the mother of his child came into his place of employment and started knocking merchandise off the shelves. She left after 20 minutes of arguing. He did not want to press charges.
Phone harassment
A Hillside Drive man, 19, told police Feb. 2 he was receiving threatening phone calls from an unknown person. He said the caller had threatened to hurt him. He thinks the caller might have obtained his phone number from Craigslist, where his number is listed. After informing the caller that he was in contact with the police, the phone calls stopped.

An Akron man, 45, of Anderson Avenue, was arrested on a warrant charging felony receiving stolen property when stopped on Manchester Road at Iola Avenue on Jan. 31.

A 15th Street man was charged Feb. 4 with obstructing official business and tampering with evidence. He is accused of hiding a vehicle involved in a hit-skip accident.
A 30-year-old Akron man was charged Feb. 3 with domestic violence. He is accused of shoving and choking the mother of his children at her Prange Drive home.
A 19-year-old Windsor Street man was charged Feb. 1 with assault. He is accused of striking a Saxe Avenue man and a woman who came to his aid.
A 15-year-old Munroe Falls Avenue boy was charged Jan. 31 with two counts of receiving stolen property. During an investigation into a burglary at a home in the 100 block of Munroe Falls Avenue, the teen was found in possession of merchandise stolen from the home.

A vacant home in the 1000 block of Broad Boulevard was broken into Jan. 31. Clothing, food and other items were taken.
Burglaries
A home in the 1600 block of High Street was broken into Feb. 4.
Someone broke into a home in the 3700 block of Haas Road on Feb. 4 and attempted to steal a safe.
A home in the 600 block of Grant Avenue was burglarized Jan. 29. A television and television stand, total value $900, were taken.
An apartment in the 3300 block of Hudson Drive was broken into and ransacked Jan. 29.
An apartment in the 4200 block of Americana Drive was broken into Jan. 31. Prescription medication, a tablet and a watch were taken.
Misuse of a credit card
A Sylvan Road man reported Jan. 31 that someone created a counterfeit credit card using his account number and made more than $500 in unauthorized transactions.
Thefts
Someone grabbed a cash box from a ticket taker at Cuyahoga Falls High School on Feb. 1. The box was recovered.
Drugs valued at $500 were taken from Banfield Veterinary Hospital, 355 Howe Road, on Jan. 31.
About 60 mattresses were taken from a Core Furniture Bank storage trailer at 2900 State Road, according to a Jan. 30 report.

Arrests
An Akron man, 21, was arrested on a charge of criminal trespassing Feb. 5. Police said he was recognized trespassing at Dillard’s in Summit Mall, where he had been banned last year.
An Akron woman, 25, was arrested on theft charges Feb. 4. Police said she tried to steal a pair of jeans from the Buckle by placing them in a purse lined with cardboard and duct tape.
An Akron man, 20, was arrested after police said he stole two six-packs of Budweiser from a store Feb. 1. The beer was valued at $14.38.
An Akron man, 18, was arrested Feb. 1 after police said he tried to steal a tube of lotion valued at $12.99 from Spencer’s gifts.
A Canton man, 31, was arrested Jan. 30 on a charge of shoplifting. Store security at Target on West Market Street caught him concealing DVD video sets, police said. The total value of the sets was $562.85. After searching his backpack, officers found a hypodermic syringe, ice cream scoop and clear glass pipe. He admitted they were used for heroin and crack cocaine, police reported.
Theft
A Smith Road man, 54, told police someone stole coins from his collection Nov. 5. He said he kept the coins in a filing cabinet at the law firm where he works. Although he suspects a few co-workers, he did not wish to have anyone investigated.

A West Hale Drive teen was charged Feb. 2 with domestic violence. He is accused of hurting his grandmother.

A home in the 2700 block of Woodridge Drive was burglarized Feb. 1. A safe was taken.

Identity fraud
A resident said Jan. 25 that someone obtained her Social Security number and opened a Dish Network account in her name in Mesquite, Texas. The account was opened last winter and closed in May with an outstanding balance of $573.

A home in the 4400 block of Johnson Road was burglarized Feb. 5. A flat-screen television was among the items taken.
Drugs
Remnants of a portable methamphetamine lab were discovered in a garbage bag in the 3400 block of Wadsworth Road on Feb. 1.
Springfield Township
Arrests
A Hillstock Avenue man, 43, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence and criminal damaging Jan. 31. Police said he threw a glass bowl at his ex-wife, who had come to pick up clothing, and broke the windshield of her car.
An Avis Road woman’s live-in son, 37, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence and criminal damaging Jan. 26 after a police report indicated he became enraged and began breaking items in her home.
Breaking and entering
Police were called to investigate two reported break-ins of units at Storage Zone on Chenoweth Road on Jan. 25 and 29. A Texas resident said $7,540 worth of tools and equipment were missing from his storage unit. A Green resident said a concrete cutting saw and other items, total value $2,065, were stolen.

A 42-year-old Kent man was charged Feb. 7 with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license. Police stopped him on Chestnut Drive in a vehicle he is accused of stealing from his mother. She declined to prosecute.
A 46-year-old McTaggart Road woman was charged Jan. 28 with failure to send a child to school. According to a police report, she forged doctor’s notes to keep her 10-year-old boy out of school for 30 days.
A 15-year-old Stow-Munroe Falls High School student was charged Feb. 1 with illegal possession of a deadly weapon in a school safety zone. He is accused of carrying a knife with a 13-inch blade and pearl handle in his pocket.
A 38-year-old Cuyahoga Falls man was charged Jan. 30 with obstructing official business and driving without a license. He is accused of giving false information to police.
Breaking and entering
Copper pipe was stolen from a vacant Kent Road home sometime between Jan. 10 and Jan. 31.
Burglary
A home in the 1300 block of Meadow Brook Boulevard was burglarized Jan. 27. Trading cards were among the items taken.
Misuse of credit card
A Mockingbird Trail business owner reported Feb. 1 someone from Virginia accessed the company credit card and made $700 worth of unauthorized transactions.
Thefts
A 6-month-old golden retriever puppy was stolen from the 4300 block of Milburn Avenue on Feb. 1. The dog’s owner reported the puppy was in the yard when a van pulled into the parking lot of Milburn apartments. The suspect opened the van’s side door and called the puppy. The dog jumped into the van and the van fled. The dog was not wearing a collar.
A 65-year-old Munroe Falls woman reported Feb. 3 that while shopping at Marc’s someone stole her purse from the shopping cart.

A 24-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, both of Akron, were arrested Jan. 25 on warrants for robbery.
A 22-year-old woman and her juvenile nephew were charged Feb. 1 with theft. The woman also was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They are accused of stealing a bottle of vodka from Acme Fresh Market, 600 South Ave. According to a loss prevention agent for the store, the woman put the bottle in a shopping cart and the juvenile took it out of the cart and concealed it in his pants.
Identity thefts
The manager of a Tacoma Street business reported Feb. 1 that someone used his personal information to make nearly $800 in unauthorized credit card purchases on the company account.
A Timbertop Drive man reported Feb. 5 someone used his personal information to transfer more than $700 from his bank account.

A 23-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman were arrested Feb. 4 on warrants for trafficking marijuana.
A 33-year-old Kings Cross Drive woman was charged Feb. 3 with domestic violence.
A 27-year-old man was charged Feb. 7 with theft of drugs. He is accused of taking prescription drugs from a South Pardee Street apartment.

A Main Street resident reported Feb. 6 someone used his bank account to make an unauthorized transaction.

A 20-year-old Akron man was charged Feb. 4 with arson, receiving stolen property, obstructing official business, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs and driving with a suspended license. He is accused of breaking into vehicles in the 600 block of South Lincoln Street and setting one car on fire.

A residence in the 900 block of Stein Court was broken into Feb. 5.

A Clover Avenue man reported Feb. 5 someone stole $600 from his home.

An Akron man, 28, of Allendale Avenue, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence Jan. 28. He is accused of scratching a female in his vehicle during an argument on Everhard Road.
Police said a Shakertown Drive NW resident, 21, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence Jan. 27 after her boyfriend said she cut his hand with a knife.
The husband, 65, of a Strausser Road NW resident was booked on a charge of domestic violence Jan. 27. Police said he tried to strangle his wife.
Breaking and entering
A cash register and an undisclosed amount of money were reported stolen Jan. 28 from the Wales Auto Repair on Wales Avenue NW.
Catalytic converters, total value $1,000, were reported stolen off two trucks parked in a fenced-in area at Ohio Pools and Spas on Whipple Avenue NW on Jan. 25. On Jan. 28, a catalytic converter valued at $2,200 was reported stolen from a parked car belonging to an Everhard Road NW man, while a similar incident occurred Jan. 21 or 22, involving another car on Everhard Road.
A $5,000 air-conditioning unit was reported stolen Jan. 24 from a vacant Strausser Street NW home owned by Bank of America.
Burglary
A flat-screen TV valued at $1,438 was stolen Jan. 20 from a Trillium Avenue NW location.
Thefts
A Cuyahoga Falls man said his car stereo, school supplies and other items, total value $900, were stolen from his vehicle Jan. 29 while parked at Wasabi Japanese Steak House on Strip Avenue NW.
Two diamond rings, total value $1,219, were reported stolen Jan. 23 from Zales Jewelers in the Westfield Belden Village Mall. A clerk said she showed a customer a variety of jewelry items. She discovered after he left that two rings were missing.
A $1,900 computer, reported stolen Jan. 21 from Name in the Frame at Westfield Belden Village Mall, was found in the parking lot, severely damaged and inoperable.
Someone entered a Strausser Street NW home Jan. 21 and stole coins valued at $600 and an undisclosed amount of jewelry.

An Akron man, 49, of Brown Street, was jailed on charges of felonious assault, assault, aggravated menacing, carrying a concealed weapon and criminal damaging following an incident at the Timberview Street NW residence of a female friend. She told police he held a large knife to her neck. Outside, he threw a knife at the woman. He was accused of pushing another woman and threatening to stab a male.

Three Canal Fulton residents were jailed Jan. 29 on charges of corrupting another with drugs as police probed a report of crimes against a girl under age 15. A Packets Street man, 21, also was booked on a charge of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, while a Braddock Street man, 24, also was charged with gross sexual imposition. The third defendant, 27, lived on Brewton Street.

A flat-screen TV and PlayStation 3 unit and games, total value $620, were reported stolen from a Rose Lane Street SE home Jan. 23.
Nine handguns, total value $3,760, were reported stolen Jan. 21 from a Clinton Avenue SE residence.

A West Salem man, 49, was arrested Feb. 3 on a charge of having a weapon under disability after he was found by deputies with a shotgun.

An Xbox, a wallet and other items, total value $80, were reported stolen Feb. 4 from a home in the 500 block of Robinson Road, Wooster Township.
A purse and a wallet valued at $150 were reported stolen Feb. 2 from a residence in the 6100 block of Prairie Lane Road, Franklin Township.
Wooster
Hit-skip investigation
An 81-year-old Wooster man was killed Feb. 5 on state Route 83, just south of Cleveland Road, after he got out of his car to help a woman whose car had slid into a concrete median on the wet roadway. A car traveling south on the road struck the man. An investigation continues.
Burglary
A camera valued at $230 was taken Feb. 1 from a residence in the 500 block of East University Street.
