NORTON: In the first meeting broadcast in over two years, Norton City Council approved the appointments of five citizens to boards and commissions.

Daniel Grether was named Ward 2 representative to the city’s Planning Commission, filling an unexpired term commencing March 1 and expiring Feb. 28, 2015.

Dalia Spisak was reappointed to her third full term as a representative on the city’s Health Advisory Board, ending Feb. 28, 2017.

Ed Noble will serve the remainder of the unexpired term as an alternate representative on the Board of Zoning Appeals. His term will expire Feb. 28, 2014.

Larry Chiavaroli was appointed to fill an unexpired term on the Planning Commission that ends Feb. 28, 2014.

Martin West was named to a three-year term as a Ward 2 representative on the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals, ending Feb. 29, 2016.

All of the positions are voluntary, unpaid seats, and City Council voted unanimously for each candidate.

The meeting was shown over the Internet because of the passage of an amendment to the city’s charter in last November’s election requiring all council meetings to be broadcast.

Subsequent meetings can be viewed live each week — or seen anytime afterward — on the city’s website, www.cityof
norton.org.
