A Youngstown man, 37, was charged with aggravated burglary, kidnapping, felonious assault and disrupting public service. Police said he assaulted a woman in the parking lot of her home, dragged her to an apartment and kicked in the door. Once inside, he continued to assault the woman, officers said. She managed to call 911. When a dispatcher called back, the man answered the phone and hung up. He refused to give the phone back to the woman and continued assaulting her, police said. The man fled when officers arrived, but he was apprehended after a short chase.
An Oxford Avenue man, 32, was charged with domestic violence and menacing after he allegedly threatened to kill a woman and poked her with a knife.
A Hillman Drive man, 34, was charged with robbery after he allegedly approached a woman in her driveway, demanded money, pushed her down and took her purse containing $170.
A Storer Avenue man, 32, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted a woman, giving her a black eye and pulling out hair.
An Ellen Avenue man, 25, was charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary after he allegedly knocked on an apartment door, pointed a gun at a resident, entered the home and took $440 from a kitchen cabinet.
A Fleming Drive man, 18, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly fired multiple shots from a handgun at an occupied vehicle.
A Hillwood Avenue man, 20, was charged with burglary, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana after he allegedly broke into a Nome Avenue residence and stole an iPad. Police said he ran from the house when officers arrived. He reportedly dropped a gun in the backyard of a South Hawkins Avenue home and was apprehended around the corner with the iPad and 17.8 grams of marijuana.
An East South Street man, 26, was charged with obstructing official business after he allegedly gave police a false statement during an investigation of an assault that led to the arrest of the wrong person.
An Andrus Street man, 20, was charged with obstructing justice after he allegedly gave a false statement to investigators that led to the arrest of the wrong person in an assault case.
A Weller Avenue man, 38, was charged with receiving stolen property and obstructing official business after he allegedly bought a $1,537 motor from Jasper Engines and Transmissions on a stolen credit card. He initially told officers that he had no knowledge of the engine, then admitted having it but letting someone else take it. He declined to reveal who had the engine.
A Hampton Road man, 18, was charged with aggravated robbery after he allegedly held up a man at gunpoint.
A Tallmadge man, 31, was charged with intimidation of a crime victim, possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Police said he had drugs and paraphernalia and was driving on a suspended license.
A Florida man, 29, was charged with theft after he allegedly delivered Iowa Steak products, took the cash and wrote a bogus sale’s receipt with a fake credit card number and returned those to his boss. Total loss to Iowa Steak was $1,033.
An East Mildred Avenue man, 27 was charged with breaking and entering after he allegedly broke into an East Tallmadge Avenue business, took property and sold it for scrap. He also allegedly took tires and wheels off a vehicle and sold them to a South Arlington Street business.
A Flowerdale Drive woman, 40, and an Eighth Street man, 39, were charged with receiving stolen property and possessing drug instruments after they were pulled over in a stolen car at East Bowery Street and Wheeler Lane.
A Dover Avenue man, 18, was charged with receiving stolen property and drug abuse after he was pulled over in a stolen vehicle. Police reported finding marijuana.
A Greenwood Avenue man, 44, was charged with burglary after he allegedly entered a home and stole items.

A State Road boy, 17, was charged with assault April 9 after he allegedly shot a boy, 16, with a BB gun.

A 12th Street woman told police April 10 that a man she knows assaulted her. She said the same man fondled her a month earlier.

A Walmart cashier, 19, told police she was robbed April 5 by a man who handed her a crumpled-up napkin with the note: “Act normal empty the drawer quietly.” The robber fled with $762 from a register.
A masked man tried to enter Papa John’s Pizza, 1630 State Road, just after midnight April 12, but fled after discovering that the door was locked.

A Malvern man, 53, told police April 6 that someone broke into his tractor-trailer and stole electronic devices in a Sam’s Club parking lot.
Someone smashed a patio door of a home in the 4800 block of State Road on April 4.
Intruders stole $250 in jewelry April 4 from a home in the 2300 block of Third Street.
A video game system was stolen April 4 from an apartment in the 1300 block of Bailey Road.

A Walgreens employee told police April 6 that a customer asked to return a Sony DVD player. The employee approved the return, but later opened the box and noticed it was a GPX DVD player, not a Sony DVD player.

A Canton Township man said three chain saws and a blower, total value $1,600, were stolen from a work site April 3 on Cottage Grove Road.
Four checks totaling $662 were stolen from a Sawgrass Drive home and cashed at different banks.

An Altavista Avenue woman, 38, was charged with felony forgery and theft after five blank checks were stolen from her mother’s Pawnee Boulevard home April 3. The daughter is accused of making the checks out to herself, forging her mother’s name and cashing them for a total of $580.
A Manchester Road man, 48, was charged with telecommunications harassment March 29 after he allegedly texted a man who he had being warned not to contact.

Warrants were issued for two Cleveland women, ages 19 and 29, and a man, 35, after they allegedly tried to cash $2,341 in counterfeit checks.

A Cuyahoga Falls man, 33, was charged with domestic violence, abduction and violation of a protection order April 10 after he allegedly grabbed a Stow woman by the neck at her home and forced her to go to Cuyahoga Falls. She told police that he raped her in a Quick Road home.
A Tallmadge Road man, 37, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a drug abuse instrument and possession of a dangerous drug during a traffic stop April 6 in the 1000 block of Graham Road. Police reported finding suspected heroin, syringes and prescription medication.
An Apache Trail man, 60, was arrested April 5 on two counts of trafficking drugs.

A Whippoorwill Trail man, 74, told police April 8 that someone hacked into his email account and sent an email to his bank, requesting $43,500 be transferred to an Illinois bank.
Theft
A Cuyahoga Falls man, 61, told police April 9 that his 2006 Ford van was stolen from Circle K at 750 Steels Corners Road. It was found in Akron.
Theft by deception
A Hiwood Avenue woman, 68, reported April 5 that she cashed checks from someone she knew and gave that person the money. She later discovered that the checks were written on a closed account.
Menacing
A Stow-Munroe Falls High School student, 17, told police April 5 that someone left a vulgar, threatening note on her car in the school parking lot.

A Clinton man, 25, was charged with trafficking drugs, possessing drugs, modifying a firearm serial number and possessing drug paraphernalia April 5. The drugs, more than $1,000 and a gun were found in a traffic stop on Osceola Avenue. The car’s driver was charged with drug possession.
A Massillon man, 25, was arrested April 5 after police responded to complaints of a man going door-to-door on Elmwood Avenue and asking for money and to use a phone. He was wanted on a warrant from another community. Police found suspected drugs on him.

College of Wooster officials reported April 7 that someone threw a burning chair into the door of Gault Admissions Center, 847 College Ave. The door was burned and the building had smoke damage.
