Cleanup schedule
AKRON: The next My Neighborhood Our Akron cleanup will be May 11 and will focus on the Joy Park area.
My Neighborhood Our Akron is a new local effort to clean parks and other areas of the city. A different neighborhood was targeted each Saturday in April. After that, the initial plan was to have an event on the first Saturday of each month through the end of the year. The cleanups, though, might be held on another Saturday if there are conflicts with holidays or other events.
The program is a joint effort involving the city, Keep Akron Beautiful and numerous community organizations and volunteers.
