A former employee at East Akron Community House is suing the nonprofit agency, alleging she was wrongfully terminated.
Davidcia Stubbs of Akron claims in the lawsuit that she was fired last year after raising “several, serious questions as to the operation and administration of its programs, and whether those programs reflected the best practices for a charitable nonprofit organization.”
The lawsuit, filed recently in Summit County Common Pleas Court, doesn’t provide specific detail about those concerns. Her attorney Donald Gallick couldn’t be reached for comment. She also alleges nepotism and favoritism.
EACH Executive Director Tiffany Edwards declined to comment, citing the ongoing litigation.
The lawsuit seeks more than $25,000 in damages.
EACH provides counseling, drug and alcohol prevention services, adult day care, neighborhood development and vocational services in an Akron neighborhood overrun with poverty and abandoned properties.
