STARK COUNTY

Hall annexation

CANTON: Stark County commissioners have approved a request from the Pro Football Hall of Fame to allow Canton to annex nearly 5.8 acres of its property that has been in Plain Township.

The land includes a practice field, parking lots and part of George Halas Drive.

Commissioners Janet Weir Creighton and Richard Regula approved the request Wednesday. Commissioner Thomas Bernabei did not attend the meeting.

Plain Township Trustee Louis Giavasis said the township did not object to the annexation, but said some details about road maintenance will need to be addressed by the two governmental entities.
