Arrests
A Robert Street woman, 23, was charged with theft. Police said the woman was employed by Walgreen’s when confronted by loss prevention workers and a store manager following an internal investigation. She admitted to thefts totaling approximately $15,000 over a six-month period.
A Fernwood Drive man, 24, was charged with robbery after his arrest on a felony warrant for an incident that occurred April 26 at a Safer Plaza residence. Police said the man approached a woman and asked to borrow her car about 9 p.m. When she refused, he tried to take her purse. After dragging her through the parking lot, the man eventually took the purse and fled, police said. The woman suffered injuries to her neck and face.

Arrest
A Grant Avenue man, 46, was jailed on a charge of breaking and entering June 26 after a break-in at a Wooster Road North vacant home. Police said he was carrying a grocery bag containing cut copper pipe when they arrested him.
Burglary
A 17th Street Northwest resident told police someone broke into the home June 23 and stole $800 worth of copper pipe from the basement.
Forgery
Police said an Akron man, 45, came into a Fifth Third Bank branch June 21 and deposited a $1,500 personal check into his account, then went to five ATMs and withdrew $100 from each, and the next day withdrew $700. A branch manager became suspicious and found the deposited check was written on a closed account.
Bath Township
Identity theft
A Cleveland-Massillon Road man reported June 27 that someone used his personal information to open a utility account in Florida. He discovered the fraud when he received a collection notice.
Theft
A total of 68 key-ring sanitizer holders, valued at nearly $500, were taken from Bath and Body Works, 3893 Medina Road, June 27.
Coventry Township
Theft
A representative of the Penguin Condo Unit Homeowners Association told investigators June 24 that a management company the association had contracted with has refused to return $90,000 in bank accounts and property corporate records after being notified its services were being terminated.
Cuyahoga Falls
Arrests
A 52-year-old Fourth Street woman was charged June 24 with assaulting an officer, resisting arrest, public indecency and disorderly conduct. The woman was walking on Sixth Street at Stow Avenue wearing only a bra. Police said she was intoxicated, fought with officers when they tried to arrest her and punched an officer through the holding cell bars.
A 17-year-old High Street boy was charged July 2 with domestic violence. He is accused of hitting his mother and punching his brother after being confronted about using his brother’s credit card without permission.
Burglaries
A home in the 2500 block of 26th Street was burglarized July 1. Belongings valued at $4,900 were taken.
A Tallmadge Road residence was broken into June 30. Electronics, valued at over $4,000, were taken.
A home in the 2800 block of Oakwood Drive was burglarized June 30. Jewelry valued at $1,000 was taken.
Felonious assault
A 44-year-old Richmond Road man reported June 29 that he was stabbed with a knife outside the Chestnut Beer Garden, 503 Chestnut Blvd. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. A second man was stabbed with a knife two hours earlier at Ninth Street and Sackett Avenue.
Identity thefts
A Broad Boulevard woman reported July 2 that someone used her personal information to file a federal tax return and receive a refund.
A 27th Street man reported July 1 that someone used his personal information to open an account at a Cuyahoga Falls gym. The debt is $1,700.
Robbery
A man entered PNC Bank, 2150 State Road, June 29, and handed a teller a note asking for money and indicating he had a weapon. He fled with $1,900.

A Canton independent contractor, 25, of Ninth Street Southwest, was jailed June 24 on a warrant charging felony passing bad checks.
Burglaries
Two golf bags and 27 clubs, total value $3,600, were reported stolen June 25 from a Prestwick Drive resident’s garage.
A power blower and other items, total value $2,100, were reported stolen June 21 from a Cottage Grove Road garage.
Identity fraud
An East Comet Road resident said June 12 that someone obtained her personal information and made fraudulent credit card charges in Michigan totaling $19,000.
Theft
Unauthorized purchases totaling $4,000 were made on an Aldawood Hills Drive resident’s credit card, she reported June 25.

A 43-year-old Akron man was arrested on a felony warrant during a traffic stop June 30 on Barber Road.
Springfield Township
Arrests
A New Haven, Ohio, man, 29, turned himself in to police June 26 on a forgery charge dating back to May 7, when police said a check was copied, altered and forged to obtain $1,252.
A Neal Road man, 32, wanted since Jan. 17, when his Lakemore girlfriend said he ripped her coat and threatened to rip out her throat, was jailed June 25. Akron police arrested him on a Springfield warrant for domestic violence.
A Meadowridge Road man, 31, was jailed June 25 on a charge of felony domestic violence after his wife said he grabbed her by the neck and slapped her twice while outside his home.
Police jailed a Springfield Center Road man, 20, on a charge of burglary June 24 after they said he was found on Shadybrook Road. He is accused of taking $600 worth of electronic game equipment from an Abington Road house while the victim was hiding in the bathroom.
Police jailed a Mobile Lane man, 34, on a charge of felony domestic violence June 23 after they said he pushed his girlfriend to the ground and punched her in the face several times before fleeing. He was arrested when he returned home.
A domestic violence warrant led to the arrest of a 45-year-old Laverne Lane man June 22.
A Tritt Road woman, 51, was booked on a charge of domestic violence June 21 after she was accused of pushing her daughter from North Carolina down several steps as she was leaving following an argument over a telephone bill.
Robbery
Police were searching for a 46-year-old woman on a robbery charge after a South Arlington Road Walmart employee was bitten as he attempted to detain the suspect. Authorities said she dropped $172 worth of unpaid clothing and fled before police arrived.
Burglaries
Two wedding bands and a diamond tennis bracelet, total value $2,600, were stolen from a Killian Road home June 25.
A $700 TV was stolen from an Oneida Trail home where the back door was smashed to gain entry.

Arrests
A 28-year-old Cuyahoga Falls woman was charged June 26 with misuse of a credit card.
A 23-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, both of Kent, were arrested June 26 on charges of child endangering. The man also is charged with obstructing official business.
An 11-year-old boy was charged July 2 with telecommunication harassment. He is accused of posting threatening messages to an 11-year-old girl on the Internet.
Identity theft
An Echo Valley Drive woman reported June 28 that she received a traffic citation in the mail from a New Jersey municipal court. She said she has not been to New Jersey in several years and believes she is the victim of identify theft.
Thefts
Steel beams valued at $2,400 were stolen from a construction site in the 1000 block of Graham Road between June 21 and 26.
An Akron home-care agency reported June 29 that someone took $80 from an 85-year-old Stow woman who is their client.
A Fishcreek Road man reported July 1 that someone took $2,500 worth of jewelry from his home.
More than $4,000 worth of tools were taken from a trailer parked in the 3200 block of Pattyann Drive July 1.
Tallmadge
Arrests
A 31-year-old Akron man was charged July 1 with violating a protection order. Police received information he was at a Tallmadge physician’s office with his child and his child’s mother, with whom he was to have no contact.
A 49-year-old Brittain Road woman was charged June 29 with aggravated menacing and domestic violence. She is accused of threatening her boyfriend with a knife.
A 28-year-old man was arrested July 2 in the parking lot of Giant Eagle, 236 West Ave., and charged with falsification and driving under suspension. Police also determined the man was wanted in Portage County on a warrant.
Thefts
A temporary employee of Ward Jet, 180 South Ave., is suspected of stealing aluminum valued at more than $1,300. Surveillance video shows him cutting the sheets into small pieces, placing them in a basket, then taking the basket to his vehicle several times a day between June 20 and 28, according to a police report.
An air-conditioning unit, valued at $2,200, was stolen from outside Pioneer Physicians Network, 66 Community Road, on July 1.
A 9mm pistol was stolen from a home in the 600 block of Northeast Avenue on July 4.

A Canal Fulton resident said his $2,000 trailer was stolen June 25 from a South Locust Street location.
Jackson Township
Arrests
A Canton woman, 21, of Maple Avenue Northeast, was jailed on charges of identity fraud and obstructing official business June 23. She was accused of giving a false name when booked at the jail and using another person’s identity.
A Lake Township woman, 37, was charged with forgery June 20 when arrested at home on a warrant. She was accused of altering the nursing licensing number of an Ashland woman to defraud Gaslite Villa Healthcare on High Mill Avenue Northwest as a nursing manager in January.
Burglary
Jewelry valued at $2,000 was reported stolen from an Oakdale Street Northwest residence June 20.
Thefts
Tools and equipment, total value $825, were reported stolen from a pickup truck June 24 at Regal Construction on Mears Gate Drive Northwest.
A Tinseltown employee told police June 23 that while she was at the Mega Street Northwest movie complex the previous night her car was entered and a laptop computer and other items, total value $1,250, were stolen.
A township resident said June 22 that her purse and contents, including cash and an iPhone, total value $614, was stolen from her cart while shopping at the Target store on Dressler Road Northwest.
An employee of a Pennsylvania company told police June 20 that 330 feet of wire on two spools were stolen from two trailers on Promway Avenue Northwest.
A $5,000 air-conditioning unit was reported stolen June 20 from TruGreen-Chemlawn’s building on Promway Avenue Northwest.
Someone stole tools and Bobcat tracks, total value $2,200, from an unsecured garage on Marzilli Street Northwest. The items belonged to Fairways of Jackson in Hudson.
Four tires and rims, total value $2,000, were stolen from two vehicles on the south side of the Spitzer Chevrolet dealership June 17.

A Standish Street Northwest motorist, 26, was booked June 24 on charges of insurance fraud, falsification and obstructing official business. He is accused of trying to get his insurance company to pay for damages when he reported June 15 that his car was stolen and then returned damaged at the Country Fest at Clay’s Park. A repair shop mechanic said the damage was normal wear and tear.

An Amberly Circle Northwest man, 40, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence June 23. A Stark County sheriff’s deputy said the suspect was accused of breaking a bookshelf and stepping toward the victim and threatening to hit her.
A 38th Street Northwest resident was jailed June 23 on a charge of domestic violence. He is accused of slapping his girlfriend in the face.

An Edison Street man, 33, was jailed by Alliance police June 26 after he allegedly said he would cause his girlfriend physical harm if she called police during an argument at a Summit Street location.

A 31-year-old High Street woman was charged July 2 with falsification and possession of an open container during a traffic stop on East Smokerise Drive.
