An Akron man is wanted on domestic violence and cruelty to animal charges stemming from a July 4 incident outside his home.
Patrick Palmer, 28, is accused of assaulting his girlfriend on Rexford Street by kicking, choking and shoving her into a van parked outside the home, police said. During the assault, police say Palmer picked up a kitten, broke its neck and then tossed the dead animal at the woman. Several children witnessed the assault, police said.
Palmer fled before police arrived and arrests warrants were issued.
