Preserving land
What the Western Reserve Land Conservancy has accomplished locally:
• Summit County: preserved 27 properties totaling 554 acres. That includes the 28-acre Eastwood Preserve in Richfield and urban greenways along Haley’s Run and Adam’s Run in South Akron.
• Medina County: preserved 29 properties totaling 930 acres. That includes 30-acre River Woods Nature Preserve in Hinckley Township. It also helped the Medina County Park District acquire a 233-acre tract on the Medina-Wayne county line for a future park.
• Portage County: preserved 43 properties totaling 2,220 acres. That includes a 153-acre addition to the Hiram College Field Station and the Portage County Park District’s 504-acre Burton D. and Margaret Clark Morgan Preserve in Shalersville Township.
