WADSWORTH: Members of the Medina County Republican Central Committee this week elected Catherine Fix to fill the vacancy of Wadsworth city auditor.
Long-time auditor John Moss was killed in a motorcycle accident Sept. 13.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve the city,” Fix said.
Mayor Robin Laubaugh, who made the recommendation, said Fix “has a tremendous background” with experience in auditing, payroll, income tax filing and budgeting.
According to her resume, Fix graduated from Clarion University in Pennsylvania in 1982 with a degree in business administration and a major in accounting. She became a certified public accountant in 1986.
Fix was a partner in a CPA firm and manager of an accountancy corporation in California. She has performed public accounting for businesses and individual tax clients. She also has served as treasurer of First Christian Church in Wadsworth.
According to the city’s website, the auditor is responsible for payroll, accounts payable and legal compliance for a $98 million budget.
Jim Kovacs, the city’s human resource manager, said the position is part time with a salary of $21,303.
