ABOUT CRAIG N. JOHNSON
Craig N. Johnston has been a law professor at the Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Ore., since 1991, where he won a best-professor award from students.
Courses: Environmental law, hazardous waste laws, the Clean Water Act, environmental enforcement, torts, administrative law, wetlands law and the Supreme Court and the environment.
Activities: Clinical director of the Earthrise Law Center in Portland; coached successful moot court team for 17 years; founder and former director of the Pacific Environmental Advocacy Center; served on Oregon water quality advisory committee from 1991 to 1998.
Work history: Assistant regional counsel for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Boston, 1985 to 1988; private practice, Perkins Coie law firm in Portland, 1988 to 1996.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in 1978, law degree from Lewis and Clark in 1985.
Activities: He is an avid runner and organized a cross-country relay race, is the author or co-author of three books and numerous articles and speeches, and has numerous professional and civic activities.
