Arrests
A Jackson Township woman, 31, of Wales Avenue Northwest, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering children. Police said she was in her car behind a business at Copley Road and St. Michaels Avenue. Officers saw a hypodermic needle, tie-off and a metal spoon on the floorboard. A search uncovered two more needles and three empty plastic bags, police said. Her 3-year-old son was in the back seat.
A Fulton Street woman, 19, was charged with felonious assault, domestic violence and tampering with evidence after she allegedly cut her boyfriend several times with a knife before trying to run him over with her car.
A Cuyahoga Falls man, 26, of Archdale Street, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly got into a drunken quarrel with someone at a Roselawn Avenue home. After the man was told to leave, he allegedly drove over the sidewalk and struck the person with his car, then fled.
A Wyley Avenue woman, 49, was charged with domestic violence with a previous conviction and aggravated trespassing. Police said she knocked an air-conditioning unit out of a bedroom window and entered a house. She then threw a cup of coffee and a remote control at a male resident. She knocked his glasses off his face and left a red mark near his eye.
A Garfield Heights man, 34, was charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools after police arrested him at Karder Machine on Kenmore Boulevard. Police said he had a flashlight and bolt cutters.
A Thurston Street man, 41, was charged with breaking and entering after he allegedly broke into the Hanini’s sandwich shop on Copley Road.
An East Thornton Street man, 20, and a Morgan Avenue man, 24, were charged with breaking and entering after they allegedly entered a house in the 1200 block of Dietz Avenue to steal copper pipes. They were seen carrying a copper-filled bucket.

A Second Street Southwest man told police July 29 that his $700 snub-nosed pistol was stolen from his apartment during the past two weeks.
Copper pipe, a sofa and other items, total value $1,150, were reported stolen from a Wooster Road North rental property July 30.
Domestic violence
A warrant was issued for a Wooster Road West man, 54, after he allegedly pushed his girlfriend and grabbed her by the neck at their home Aug. 1.

A 60-year-old employee of TJ Maxx, 3897 Medina Road, was charged with theft from the store Aug. 7.
A man, 46, was charged with illegal panhandling Aug. 5 after he asked a pedestrian for money because he was in rehab and needed help.

A Winter Parkway man, 22, was arrested on a warrant Aug. 3 during a traffic stop in the 2000 block of Munroe Falls Avenue. He also was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
A Canton man, 42, was charged Aug. 5 with contributing to the unruliness of a minor Aug. 5. During a traffic stop, it was discovered that his passenger was a 17-year-old girl who was out after curfew without permission.
An Akron man, 28, was charged with criminal mischief and criminal damaging Aug. 3. He is accused of causing more than $600 worth of damage to a vehicle parked at Dillon and Norman avenues.
A woman, 22, and a man, 25, both of Kent, were arrested Aug. 3 on Front Street at Bailey Road on drug charges related to the manufacture and possession of methamphetamine.

Copper pipe was stolen when someone broke into a vacant home in the 600 block of West Portage Trail, according to an Aug. 6 report.
Someone broke into a garage in the 1800 block of Beacon Hill Circle on Aug. 4. Two bicycles were taken.

Someone used the bank account information of a Howe Avenue business to make fraudulent purchases between July 31 and Aug. 5.

A Cedar Woods Drive woman told police Aug. 3 that someone used her personal information to obtain a credit card.
Misuse of a credit card
A 17th Street man reported Aug. 5 that a relative used his credit card without permission.
A Hanover Street woman, 27, told police Aug. 4 that someone used her credit card to reserve a hotel room in Cincinnati.
Passing a bad check
Two guns were purchased July 19 with a check for nearly $800 from Pro Armament Co., 2427 Front St. A store employee reported the check was written on a closed account.
Theft of utilities
Police received a report Aug. 2 from the Falls Utility Department that a resident in the 3100 block of Elmwood reconnected electric service without permission, stealing $13 in service.

A Second Street man reported Aug. 7 that someone took three coins, total value $690, from his car while it was parked at Gorge Metro Park.
An East Broadway Street retirement home resident reported Aug. 6 someone took her purse from her room.
Two phones valued at more than $1,200 were taken Aug. 4 from the AT&T Store, 794 Howe Ave.
A 23rd Street woman reported Aug. 6 that she paid a contractor more than $1,000 for permits and materials for a plumbing job at her home. She said he has not bought materials or applied for permits and won’t return her money.

A juvenile girl who lives in Kent was charged with telecommunication harassment and menacing by stalking Aug. 2 after she allegedly harassed a Brewster Drive girl.

A West Caston Road boy, 14, was charged with domestic violence July 30 after he allegedly threatened to kill his male guardian during a quarrel.

An official with JR Engineering, 5208 Wooster Road W., reported Aug. 5 that someone duplicated 46 payroll checks and cashed them for $22,000.

A stolen truck was overturned and abandoned Aug. 8 on Grenfall Road.

Arrest
A Lakemore man, 22, of Cross Way, was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest July 30 after he allegedly threatened to hurt his father during a quarrel.
Breaking and entering
Two handguns, a Geauga County sheriff deputy’s uniform and other items, total value $2,200, were reported stolen July 30 from a house on Ottawa Avenue.
A Wellington man told authorities July 21 that his unlocked 16-foot trailer on Orchard Lane was entered. Tools and other equipment, total value $2,658, were stolen.
Robbery
A Springfield man was struck in the face after refusing a panhandler’s request for money July 30 in the parking lot of Denny’s restaurant on South Arlington Road.

Arrests
An Akron man, 26, was arrested Aug. 8 during a traffic stop in the 200 block of North Thomas Road. He was wanted for a parole violation and failure to register as a sex offender.
A Cuyahoga Falls man, 50, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia Aug. 6 during a traffic stop in the 600 block of Northwest Avenue. A police officer saw a metal pipe used to smoke marijuana. The suspect told the officer: “This has happened to me three times now.”
An Akron man, 49, was charged Aug. 5 with possessing hashish, marijuana and drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop.
Two men, both 26, and a woman, 25, were charged with one count each of possession of a drug abuse instrument Aug. 2 during a traffic stop in the 200 block of West Avenue. Police reported finding a syringe.
A disoriented man found in the back seat of a vehicle in the parking lot of Circle K, 170 Tallmadge Circle, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments Aug. 2. Police found a syringe, cotton ball and spoon in the car.

Someone broke into a building in the 900 block of Southeast Avenue and stole several tools Aug. 5.
Forgery
A cabdriver called police Aug. 7 to complain that he had been paid with a check written on the account of a dead person. The driver told police he dropped off a woman at Tallmadge Motel, 1128 East Ave., about 2:30 a.m. A man came out of a room and paid the driver with a check for $45. The driver found the check belonged to a person who died a month earlier.
Police trying to serve a warrant on a man staying at Tallmadge Motel, 1128 East Ave., on Aug. 7 were flagged down by an employee concerned that the man had not paid his room fee the previous day. The employee went into the room and found a checkbook with a different name than the person renting the room. Police found suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia in the room. The suspect was gone.

Animal complaint
Officers were called to West Drive on Aug. 8 for a report of a dog running loose and acting aggressive. A girl, 14, was found trying to lead the “retriever-type dog” back home. The dog was allowed to return to the home.

A Vineyard Drive resident called police Aug. 6 to report fraud involving a bank account.

A Countryside Drive resident called police Aug. 5 to report that landscaping bricks and lights had been strewn about the yard.

Officers were called to a business on state Route 18 after three youngsters took $4 in candy Aug. 4.
Citizen assist
A woman called officers to her Pearl Road home Aug. 4 because “her son coughed up a camera and tracking device.” The officer advised the woman to get some sleep.
Theft
Officers discovered someone removing pallets Aug. 8 from a Grande Boulevard business. The officers made them return the pallets.
Montville Township
Burglary
An Upland Ridge Drive resident told police Aug. 4 that two men and a woman in a pickup truck were taking appliances from his neighbor’s garage. When confronted, the three sped away. The homeowner later reported that a stove and 100 sheets of cement board had been taken.
Disturbing the peace
Officers were called to the northbound lane of Wadsworth Road near River Styx on Aug. 6 for a report of a shirtless man dancing in the road with a bottle of Jack Daniels in his hand. The man was told to stay indoors.
Theft
Police were called Aug. 7 to a Smith Road property after it was discovered that a camera to record deer movement was taken. Another camera on the property captured images of two juveniles trespassing.

Two High Street men, both 26, compounded an earlier arrest on a disorderly conduct charge Aug. 7 when they were cited with littering a short time later. As the men stood on a sidewalk, police watched to make sure the behavior didn’t continue. One of the men held a straw at his groin and wagged it. He then threw the straw into the street. The second man threw a cigarette into the street.

A Longview Drive home was burglarized Aug. 6.
A home in the 200 block of Valley View Drive was looted Aug. 8.
Several garages were broken into Aug. 6.
Vandalism
Police discovered via Facebook that someone vandalized Franklin Park, 137 Pine St. Equipment was damaged and images of male genitalia were drawn in chalk on basketball courts.

Two Louisville men, ages 20 and 21, were arrested in the 300 block of South Water Street on warrants charging felonious assault.
An Anita Drive woman, 20, was charged Aug. 7 with domestic violence.

A Canton man, 22, of Rice Avenue Northeast, was arrested July 30 on warrants of aggravated burglary, domestic violence and disorderly conduct.
A Canal Fulton resident, 30, of Manchester Road, was charged with robbery, obstruction of official business and theft July 29. Police said he struggled with security after trying to steal headphones at the Target store on Dressler Road Northwest.

Someone entered two vehicles July 30 at Ron Marhofer GMC on Whipple Avenue Northwest and stole radio units, total value $2,200.
A computer, clothing and other items, total value $12,150, were reported stolen July 27 from an unlocked rental car at the Courtyard of Marriott hotel on Metro Circle Northwest.
A Hartville woman told police that her purse and cellphone, total value $620, were stolen from a table while she was dancing July 28 at the Pub Club on Dressler Road Northwest.
A New Franklin man told police July 26 that an $800 laptop computer was stolen from his car at the Marathon station on Portage Street Northwest.

Police were called to investigate an arson at Orchard Hill Elementary on Jonathan Street Northwest. Someone melted the bottom section of a slide, causing $1,500 damage.

Someone smashed the windows of two vehicles July 27 and stole purses, cash and other items, total value $1,660, on West Maple Street. Damage to the vehicles was $2,000.
A laptop computer, iPad and other items, total value $2,200, were stolen July 24 from a car at a Willaman Avenue Northwest home.
A Weber Avenue Northeast woman told police July 23 that a laptop computer, iPod and other items, total value $1,680, were stolen from her vehicle.

A Jersey cow worth $950 was killed Aug. 6 in a suspected drive-by shooting in the 10900 block of Congress Road, Congress Township.

Thirty Adderall pills were reported stolen from a pickup truck Aug. 4 in the 9000 block of Krabill Road, Milton Township.
On Aug. 1, Smithville Manufacturing, 6658 Cleveland Road, Wayne Township, reported 1,600 pounds of copper worth $7,500 was stolen from the business.
Two packs of cigarettes, 27 Vicodin pills and $48 were reported stolen Aug. 5 from a home in the 12700 block of Mark Path, Chippewa Township.
Two generators, total value $8,000, were reported stolen Aug. 1 from Countryside Market, 8375 Criswell Road, Salt Creek Township.

A camera valued at $300 was reported stolen Aug. 5 from a residence in the 500 block of College Avenue. The resident also reported that lawn chairs and trash were thrown in the yard and a sprinkler flooded the yard.
Three televisions, total value $2,164, were reported stolen Aug. 2 from a home in the 2500 block of Monterey Street.
Arrests Police charged 11 people with theft after they allegedly took donated items from a drop-off center at Goodwill Industries on Spink Street.

A Wooster woman reported July 29 that someone forged a withdrawal slip and tried to take cash from an account at Huntington National Bank, 112 W. Liberty St.
Possession of drugs
A suspected meth lab was found Aug. 5 at a home in the 600 block of East South Street. Three children were removed to Wayne County Children Services. Their mother fled the home.

A computer and printer, total value $1,000, were reported stolen Aug. 5 from Wayne County Rubber, 1205 E. Bowman St.
