If your kids are jumping all over the furniture now that the weather has turned cold, Sky Zone, an indoor trampoline park in Westlake, offers a safe alternative to living room mayhem.
Family members of all ages and levels of stamina can enjoy a vigorous cardio workout, jumping, leaping or doing back flips off of walls, all while reducing potential property damage and injuries at home.
Sky Zone is a relatively new national chain that started in 2004. The indoor parks are built around a concept of covering both the floor and walls of a hangar-sized indoor space with continuous high quality trampolines, so that visitors can literally bounce off the walls, if they so choose.
Activities offered range from structured play, like 3-D Dodgeball, trampoline basketball or aerobics classes known as SkyRobics, to “open jump” sessions, where visitors can roam the enormous space, jumping on walls or floors in whatever manner that strikes their fancy.
Among the organized events held at Sky Zone is its Ultimate Dodgeball Championship, which has become a national competition with local qualifying rounds held across the U.S. and Canada and a championship tournament in Las Vegas.
Sky Zone is a supporter of the American Heart Association. They have donated well over 10,000 free Jump passes to the American Heart Association for use as awards and incentives for students to take part and succeed in association programs.
Hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 3 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to midnight and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m. Sky Jam (basketball) is available from 10 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays for ages 16 and up.
Jump prices range from $10 for a half hour to $22 for two hours. Children under 18 wishing to use the facility must have their parent or guardian sign a waiver.
Sky Zone is located at 31500 Viking Parkway, Westlake.
