Kent police made dozens of arrests during last weekend’s downtown Halloween celebration.
Exact arrest numbers were not available from Kent police, but Chief Michelle Lee took to the department’s Facebook page to give a brief highlight of activity Saturday night and Sunday morning.
There were no reports of serious injuries.
“Assaults, fires, fights, gun shots and lots of disorderly conduct,” Lee wrote Monday. “I was here at work Sunday afternoon and we still had over [10] people to book in, sober up and send home!
“We have pictures too. I hope to post them soon. I wish I could post the booking photos, nothing brightens my day than pictures of crying wicked witches and drunken guys in gorilla suits!”
Officers from the city of Kent, Kent State University and Brimfield Township patrolled the area during the annual Halloween event.
Brimfield police Chief David Oliver posted his take on Facebook, noting 16 arrests through early Sunday.
“The unfortunate [suspects] have included Mother Earth, Little Red Riding Hood, a devil or two and lots of others,” Oliver noted. “When we get it all sorted out, we will provide the cast of characters and quite the cast it was.
“Our new holding cells are not so new anymore.”
