A former Jackson High School coach charged with videotaping nude boys in the locker room waived a preliminary hearing Wednesday in court in Massillon. His case now goes to a grand jury.

Massillon Municipal Judge Edward Elum continued the $2 million bond for 46-year-old Scott Studer.

The freshman basketball coach was arrested last week after investigators searched his home and found nude images on a DVD, a laptop computer and a flash drive.

WEWS-TV in Cleveland reported that 64 boys have been identified on the videos. The materials were found during a search led by postal inspectors.

Studer quit his jobs as coach and school building aide on the day he was arrested.

Separately, at a Jackson Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, Superintendent Chris DiLoreto told an audience of concerned parents and students that his primary concern in the aftermath of Studer’s arrest was keeping the school day as normal as possible.

“My main priority on Wednesday was to maintain normalcy,” he said.

Studer is accused of videotaping nude boys in a locker room over a period of eight years.

In the days following Studer’s arrest, several parents expressed concerns that the district was slow to inform them what was transpiring.

DiLoreto said district officials were not immediately sure who the potential victims were because they are not permitted to view the confiscated videotapes.

“I responded directly to all emails and calls and met with parents of students that we knew for sure may have been impacted,” he told the audience.
