Silver Lake produced more yard waste than any other community in Summit County, a new report shows.
Village residents produced nearly 80 pounds of grass clippings, leaves and brush per household per week in 2010, according to a report from Michelle Nestor of Nestor Resources Inc. that was compiled for the Summit-Akron Solid Waste Management Authority.
No. 2 was Stow, with 65.71 pounds of yard waste per household per week. Other communities in the top five were: Munroe Falls, 29.82 pounds; Northfield Center Township, 26.70 pounds; and Hudson, 21.36 pounds.
The Summit County average was 15.67 pounds per household per week.
The volume of yard waste in Akron was 7.22 pounds per household per week, according to Nestor’s report.
