Akron

Arrests

A West Long Street man, 44, was charged with robbery after he allegedly stole a six-pack of beer from a BP station on North Main Street and assaulted a clerk who followed him.

An East Waterloo Road man, 51, was charged with violation of a protection order and menacing after he allegedly threatened to kill a woman if she separated from him.

A Kenmore Boulevard woman, 27, and a Frances Avenue man, 33, were charged with breaking and entering after police found them inside a home in the 200 block of East York Street. The door had been forced open.

A Mercer Avenue man, 20, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and possessing weapons illegally at an East Buchtel Avenue home.

A Fess Avenue man, 26, was charged with receiving stolen property after police stopped him on a stolen moped at Vernon Odom Boulevard and Pontiac Street.

A East Avenue man, 41, was charged with criminal simulation after police reported seeing him sell bootleg movies and CDs from a car trunk.

A Dover Avenue man, 22, a Tarson Terrace man, 19, and a Stanton Avenue man, 22, were charged with receiving stolen property after police pulled them over in a stolen vehicle on Brown Street.

A Bellows Street man, 23, was charged with domestic violence, menacing and criminal damaging.

A West Market Street man, 30, was charged with domestic violence.

A Virginia Avenue man, 26, was charged with domestic violence.

Arrest

A Bath Township man, 82, of Cleveland-Massillon Road, was charged with forgery Dec. 3 after he allegedly sent a fraudulent eviction notice to God’s Magic City Church and a residence on 15th Street Northwest.

Burglaries

Someone stole a PlayStation 3 console, games, controllers and other items, total value $5,110, from an East Lake Avenue home Dec. 2.

Jewelry and medications, total value $527, were stolen from a Newton Avenue home.

Thefts

A gun, tablet, camera and other items, total value $830, were stolen from a car parked at the Barberton Social Club on Sylvester Street.

A Bell Street man told police Dec. 3 that someone stole his U.S. Bank account number and withdrew $985 by transferring the funds through Western Union.

An Xbox 360, jewelry and other items, total value $1,078, were reported stolen Dec. 1 from a Sixth Street Northwest home.

Arrest

A Sun Valley Drive boy, 13, was charged with threatening domestic violence Dec. 9 after he allegedly threatened to kill his father.

Burglary

Someone broke into a guest house Dec. 8-9 in the 2100 block of Charles Lane and stole a plasma television.

Thefts

A wallet was stolen from a Ghent Road gas station Dec. 8.

A Big Spruce Drive man told police Dec. 11 that someone took a package from outside his home.

Misuse of a credit card

A Sourek Road woman told police Dec. 7 that someone used her debit card account to make unauthorized purchases online.

Copley Township

Identity fraud

A Westwick Way man, 36, told police Dec. 10 that someone opened several credit cards in his name without permission.

A Norton man, 57, told police Dec. 8 that someone withdrew $1,451 from his checking account and used the cash for a Western Union money order.

A Janwood Drive woman, 46, told police Dec. 12 that some charged $1,600 on her credit card at stores around the country.

Coventry Township

Arrest

A Leity Drive woman, 38, was charged with domestic violence Dec. 2. She told a sheriff’s deputy that her boyfriend, 31, was growing marijuana in the basement. He was charged with illegal manufacture of marijuana.

Burglary

Someone entered a Longacre Avenue home Nov. 29 and stole $2,736 in cash, jewelry and tools.

Theft

Five cords of split firewood and a toolbox, total value $3,800, were reported stolen Dec. 6.

Cuyahoga Falls

Arrests

A Kennedy Boulevard woman, 50, was charged Dec. 9 with cruelty to animals after she allegedly suffocated her two cats. The woman was found in her apartment with a self-inflicted knife wound. Her home health-care aide told police she found suicide notes. She was transported to a local hospital.

A Hudson man, 19, was charged with criminal trespass Dec. 10 and a Hardman Drive woman, 19, was charged with obstructing official business. He is accused of being on Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority property after receiving notice to stay away. She is accused of lying to police and helping the man leave through a bedroom window.

A former employee of Toys R Us, 590 Howe Ave., was charged with theft Dec. 12 after he allegedly failed to ring up more than $6,000 in purchases.

Burglary

A woman told police Dec. 11 that someone walked into her house through an unlocked front door but left without taking anything.

Forgery

A man reported Dec. 10 that someone forged and cashed three business checks for a total of $900.

Identity theft

A Sixth Street man reported Dec. 8 that someone used his personal information to make three fraudulent bank transactions for more than $600.

A Lake View Drive man reported Dec. 10 that someone opened credit accounts in his name and charged more than $5,000.

Theft by deception

An East Prescott Circle woman, 71, told police Dec. 9 that she wired $1,725 to a Massachusetts address because a man posing as her grandson said he had been arrested and needed the money for bail.

A Chart Road woman reported Dec. 11 that a woman who claims to be from Jamaica has been sending her father phony Social Security checks and telling him to deposit the checks in his account, withdraw cash and wire the cash to her.

Thefts

Someone stole $1,400 in electronic equipment from an Eighth Street home Dec. 7.

A man stole 12 Hershey candy bars Dec. 8 from Sheetz, 1210 Main St. Eight candy bars were stolen Dec. 9.

Someone stole a $700 security system Dec. 7 from Sam’s Club, 1189 Buchholzer Boulevard.

Thefts

A Bath & Body Works manager told police Dec. 11 that a customer stole more than $315 in merchandise.

A manager with 21 Century Smoking told police Dec. 11 that someone stole $580 from a register.

Assaults

A Calderwood Drive man, 42, told police that his roommate, 39, punched him and struck him with a glass baking pan while intoxicated Dec. 10.

A New York woman, 24, was charged with using two counterfeit $100 bills Dec. 9 at Macy’s Department Store. Police reported finding 13 other counterfeit $100 bills on her.

A manager at Bath & Body Works found a counterfeit $50 bill Dec. 10.

Burglary

Someone stole a radar detector and other items, total value $1,200, from a Deanna Drive garage Dec. 4.

Identity theft

A Neptune Drive resident reported Dec. 4 that someone used her Social Security number to open a Dominion East Ohio Gas account totaling $994.

Arrests

An Elmcrest Drive man was charged with domestic violence Dec. 9.

Misuse of a credit card

A Boston Mills Road man reported Dec. 6 someone used his business account to make out-of-state purchases.

Springfield Township

Arrests

A South Arlington Road man, 31, was charged with domestic violence Dec. 6 after he allegedly broke his girlfriend’s phone, spit on her face, threw her against a refrigerator, slammed her on the ground and hit her in the head several times Dec. 1.

A Slagle Road man, 20, was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest Dec. 3 after he allegedly demanded money from his grandfather, threatened to punch him and pounded holes in a wall. Police used a Taser to detain him.

A Pressler Road woman, 26, was charged with domestic violence Dec. 2 after she allegedly threatened her boyfriend with a kitchen knife and hit him in the back of a head with a trophy. She told police that she was upset because her boyfriend didn’t come home until 1 a.m.

Domestic violence was the charge filed Dec. 1 against a Lessig Avenue woman, 24, who said she and her boyfriend had an argument and she slapped and pushed him before he left.

Domestic violence

A Lake Road man, 25, was wanted on a domestic violence warrant after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.

Forgery

Two business checks totaling $1,212 were reportedly stolen and forged Nov. 29 from Innovex Systems on Myersville Road.

Theft

Cash totaling $10,300 was reported stolen Nov. 30 from a Pawnee Boulevard home.

Arrests

A Lynnwood Drive man, 18, was charged Dec. 5 with underage drinking, two counts of receiving stolen property, and vehicle trespass. He is accused of breaking into cars and stealing property inside.

A Stow man, 34, was charged Dec. 11 with violating a protection order.

Three teens were charged with theft and obstructing official business Dec. 7 following thefts from vehicles.

A coin collection valued at $5,000 was taken from a home in the 4200 block of Kent Road while residents were on vacation Nov. 28. The theft was discovered Dec. 7.

Domestic violence

A Stow woman, 33, told police Dec. 6 that a man she knows threw her to the floor and forced her out of a Graham Road building.

A woman reported Dec. 6 she has been receiving calls and text messages from a man who has been ordered not to have contact with her.

Stalking

A Stow woman, 38, reported a suspicious car near her home Dec. 7. Police discovered the driver might be stalking the woman.

A Stow woman, 35, reported Dec. 7 that a man has been stalking her for a month. Police are investigating.

Medina County

Wadsworth

Breaking and entering

Police responding to an alarm at Speedway, 1160 Akron Road, found the front door broken open. Someone had tampered with an ATM inside. A suspect was arrested a short time later by Akron police.

Identity theft

A West Street man reported Dec. 8 someone used his personal information to open credit accounts, charging more than $3,900.

Theft

Someone stole $500 on Dec. 10 from Walmart, 222 E. Smokerise Drive.

Portage County

Kent

Arrests

A Port Clinton man, 20, was arrested Dec. 12 on a battery warrant.

A Benjamin Court man, 19, was charged Dec. 10 with inducing panic.

A Franklin Avenue man, 48, was arrested Dec. 10 on a burglary warrant.

Burglaries

Someone stole a video game system Dec. 11 from a West Williams Street residence.

Someone broke into a home Dec. 10 in the 800 block of Manchester Avenue.

Stark County

Canal Fulton

Arrest

A Canton woman, 38, of Fifth Street Southeast, was jailed Dec. 1 on a warrant for the theft of $1,700 worth of jewelry from an elderly person on Stonewood Street.

Jackson Township

Arrests

A South Billingsgate Circle Northwest man, 19, and a Fulton Drive Northwest woman, 18, were jailed for two counts each of aggravated robbery after two men said they were robbed of cash and credit cards at gunpoint on Windy Lane Street Northwest.

A Stuart Street Northwest man, 46, was charged with aggravated menacing Dec. 4 after he allegedly told his roommate that this would be her last day on Earth.

Thefts

A $570 desktop computer was stolen Dec. 1 from BJ’s Wholesale Club on Frank Avenue Northwest.

A worker at Orchard Pharmaceutical Services on Freedom Avenue Northwest told police Nov. 29 that $800 was taken from her purse.

Lawrence Township

Arrest

A Canal Fulton man, 18, of Erie Avenue North, was arrested Nov. 29 on warrants alleging arson, safe-cracking, felony vandalism, six counts of burglary, three counts of grand theft and one of theft.

North Canton

Arrests

A woman, 39, was arrested Dec. 5 on a felony theft warrant after she allegedly took a checkbook from a Morello Street South home and made purchases. Police said she is a suspect in three other felony thefts and two other identify thefts.

A Canton woman, 28, of 21st Street Northeast, was arrested Dec. 5 on a felony theft warrant after she allegedly used a credit card of her employer, Taco Bell, to obtain $167.

Plain Township

Arrest

A Canton man, 39, was charged with aggravated menacing Nov. 29 after he allegedly blocked a man’s car in a Convenience Circle Northwest parking lot, pointed a semiautomatic handgun at him and threatened to shoot the motorist.

Wayne County

Wayne sheriff

Arrest

A registered sex offender failed to notify the sheriff’s office that he moved from a home in the 8700 block of Friendsville Road, Canaan Township.

Wooster

Robberies

A woman, 23, told deputies Dec. 9 that two people tied her mouth, hands and feet with duct tape at a home in the 1700 block of Gasche Street, and took her car keys and cellphone.

Two men entered a College of Wooster dorm in the 1300 block of Beall Avenue, took the wallets of two students, assaulted a man, 18, and escaped with $20. The victims said they knew the robbers.

Thefts

A wallet with $200 was reported stolen Dec. 9 from a restaurant in the 1800 block of Beall Avenue.

Hunting gear, ammunition and a kicker box, total value $3,621, were reported stolen Dec. 8 from a pickup truck in the 1100 block of Mindy Lane.
