A Byers Avenue man, 23, was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated menacing and assault after he allegedly broke into a woman’s home through a bedroom window and chased her when she ran. Police said he pulled a knife, threatened her and punched her in the face several times.
A Basin Terrace man, 39, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted a woman and threw her against a wall. She had marks on her right arm and cuts on her jaw. Officers saw a hole in the wall where the man had pushed her.
A Boulevard Street man, 21, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly punched a pregnant woman in the face and pushed her to the ground.
A Minson Way, man, 18, was charged with improperly discharging a firearm into a home. Police said the man was observed waving a gun in the air after shots were fired into an occupied Bittaker Street residence.
A Gage Street man, 18, was charged with the Dec. 17 armed robbery of Nick’s Barber Shop on East South Street.
An Everton Drive man, 18, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, tampering with evidence and possessing a weapon illegally at Springhill Apartments. Police said the man took a gun out of a car trunk and hid it in his pants before confronting someone inside an apartment. He later threw the gun into a play area and jumped from one balcony to another.
A Norton man, 26, was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of criminal tools and misrepresentation following a traffic stop. He allegedly gave police a false Social Security number and tried to hide a BB gun when he exited the car. A woman, 24, was charged with tampering with evidence after she grabbed the gun.
A Chester Avenue man, 49, was charged with felony theft after he allegedly admitted stealing about $5,300 over a 10-month span from Norandex, where he was employed.
A South Hawkins Avenue man, 20, was charged with burglary after he allegedly forced his way into a Seward Avenue residence.
A Florida Avenue man, 32, was charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools after he allegedly broke into homes on Fawler Avenue and Weiser Avenue.

A Wooster Road North man, 19, was arrested Dec. 9 on two warrants alleging domestic violence and one count of aggravated trespass. He allegedly hit the mother of his child twice at a Herms Court home the previous day.
Breaking and entering
A cellphone, sweeper and clothing, total value $700, were reported stolen Dec. 8 from an unattached garage at an Ettle Drive home.
Two computers, a vacuum, a flat-screen TV and jewelry, total value $10,768, were stolen Dec. 11 from a home on Glenn Street.
Thefts
A ladder valued at $645 was reported stolen Dec. 12 from the side of a garage on Oakwood Street. A chain securing the ladder had been cut.
A Norton Avenue resident told police Dec. 11 that a lock on her locker had been removed and items valued at $1,020 had been stolen, including $1,000 worth of tools.
A $900 saw belonging to the CT Taylor Construction Co. was stolen Dec. 7 from outside West Elementary School on Shannon Avenue.

Misuse of credit card
A Harvest Drive woman told police Dec. 19 that someone used her credit card to make an unauthorized transaction of nearly $500.

A Doylestown man, 36, was charged with driving under the influence, possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia Dec. 15 after police saw a car in the parking lot of a closed business. Officers said the man had passed out and barely responded when police tried to get his attention.

A Red Crest Lane man told police Dec. 9 that a safe, cash and an $18,000 diamond wedding ring were stolen. He later reported that the items had been returned.

A boy and girl, both 14, were arrested Dec. 20 while playing hooky from school. The boy was charged with giving false information to a police officer and possessing tobacco. The girl was charged with being unruly. The boy told police that he and his sister weren’t in school because his grandmother was sick and his mother asked them to come home. Police determined that the girl was not his sister.
An Anderson Road man, 31, was charged with aggravated menacing and having prohibited weapons Dec. 19 after he allegedly pulled a knife on his sister and threatened to kill her.

Three Elmwood Street residents told police Dec. 18-19 that someone slashed inflatable lawn decorations.
Misuse of credit card
The manager of a Howe Avenue furniture store told police Dec. 18 that a customer purchased $11,400 worth of furniture with a stolen credit card.
A Portage Trail woman told police Dec. 19 that someone used her credit account to make $4,000 in Internet purchases.

A Main Street social club reported Dec. 18 that someone wrote $8,000 in fraudulent checks from the club’s bank account.
A 2006 Ford 500 was stolen from a driveway Dec. 15 in the 1300 block of Second Street.
A man stole 13 king-size Hershey bars, valued at $20, from a Main Street gas station Dec. 19.

An Akron woman, 30, was charged with theft Dec. 17 after she allegedly stole $32 in goods from Giant Eagle.
Two Akron women, 22, and 21, were charged with theft Dec. 17 after they allegedly tried to steal children’s jeans from Dillard’s at Summit Mall.

A Southeast Avenue woman reported Dec. 17 that she suspects friends of stealing NASCAR memorabilia and a safe containing guns. One friend showed police a text message purported to be from the woman, asking her to sell or hide the reportedly stolen merchandise.

An employee of a Southeast Avenue business reported Nov. 29 that a co-worker blocked a door to a meeting room and refused to let her out, saying “Are you going to be grateful if I let you out?”
