Road rage injury
AKRON: An Akron woman suffered a gunshot wound to her shoulder after she and the driver of a car she was riding in became involved in a road rage dispute with another driver.
The woman, 20, was treated at Akron General Medical Center. Her companion, a 23-year-old man, was not injured.
The other driver, whom the couple said fired four shots into their car, has not been apprehended.
According to a police report, the couple was driving on Kenmore Boulevard about 3 p.m. Saturday when the driver of a four-door silver sedan became angry.
The cars drove to Cory Avenue near West Waterloo Road, where they pulled over. A verbal altercation took place.
During the exchange, the shooter fired four shots into the victim’s vehicle and one of the bullets hit the woman passenger in the left shoulder blade, a report shows.
The shooter then fled.
Ward 10 meeting
AKRON: A Ward 10 meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Goodyear library branch, 60 Goodyear Blvd.
Judge John Quinn will discuss grandparents’ rights to visitation and custody.
Council President Garry Moneypenny, who represents Ward 10, is in Germany at the Hanover technology fair, so at-large Councilman Jeff Fusco will oversee his ward meeting.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP
Officer resigns
JACKSON TWP.: Former police Officer Todd A. Macaluso has agreed to resign, effective March 28, in return for $5,500 in severance pay.
Macaluso, an officer in Jackson Township for 19 years, faced disciplinary actions twice in the past three weeks.
In the more recent incident, Chief David Zink said Macaluso was unable to testify during a trial March 20 after arriving at the Stark County Courthouse with a blood-alcohol level above the township’s workplace limit.
Macaluso was fired following other incidents in 2008 and 2011, but an arbitrator reinstated his job after appeals each time.
Trustees accepted the terms of the resignation last week and have declined to comment on the agreement in any additional detail.

Recycle site moves
LOUISVILLE: The recycling drop-off center at 1022 W. Main St. will relocate to the east side of Wilson Park, effective Friday.
The move, to continue until further notice, will allow for paving and construction work around the center’s current location.

AKRON: Calvin DeVore Leonard, state director for One Ohio Now, will be guest speaker when the Summit County Progressive Democrats meet at 6:30 p.m. April 16.
Leonard will discuss the state budget with an emphasis on progressive talking points.
Stephen Dyer, a former state representative who now works as an education policy fellow at Innovation Ohio, will talk about the state’s education budget.

Citizens committee
AKRON: Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer is seeking members for the Summit County Probate Court Citizens Advisory Committee.
The 30-member committee will meet quarterly to learn about the services and work of the Summit County Probate Court and gather input that will help the court be more responsive.
The 2013 meetings are scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. on June 6, Sept. 5 and Dec. 5.
