Five men will receive the sacrament of Holy Orders to become new priests in the Cleveland diocese today.
Four of them have connections to the Akron area. They either grew up in the Akron area or have been assigned to parishes in the five-county region.
Bishop Richard Lennon will preside at the 10 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of Saint John the Evangelist in Cleveland.
The Mass will be shown live on the diocese website at www.dioceseofcleveland.org. The live streaming of the Mass is expected to begin at 9:45 a.m.
The men to be ordained include:
• The Rev. Ryan J. Cubera, 27, of Hudson. He was a member of St. Mary’s Church. His first assignment will be St. Raphael in Bay Village.
• The Rev. Terrence M. Grachanin, 34, of Avon Lake. He has been assigned to St. Charles Borromeo in Parma.
• The Rev. Augustine D. Lee, 28, of Gumi, South Korea. He has been assigned to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Wooster.
• The Rev. Louis H. Thomas, 36, of Cleveland. He has been appointed to St. Francis de Sales in Coventry Township.
• The Rev. Adam A. Zajac, 26, of Northfield. He was a member of St. Barnabas in Northfield. He has been appointed to Holy Angels in Chagrin Falls.
The Cleveland diocese is the 23rd largest in the United States and covers 3,414 square miles including Cuyahoga, Summit, Lorain, Lake, Geauga, Medina, Wayne and Ashland counties.
