AKRON
Vandals strike
AKRON: Car tires, swimming pool liners and trampolines were targeted by vandals in the Coventry Crossing neighborhood in South Akron this weekend.
Mark Derrig, president of the homeowner’s association, said residents awoke to the damage Saturday morning and began contacting Akron police. At least one surveillance video was given to officers in an effort to identify those responsible.
Derrig could not put an exact number of residents affected by the vandals. He said the damage spree ran along Picadilly Circle toward Canterbury Circle and Abbey Lane.
Residents estimate more than 60 car tires were damaged along with several pool liners and trampolines.
